About My School

The My School website is a resource for parents, educators and the community to receive important information about each of Australia’s schools in an easily accessible format.

My School contains data on such things as a school’s student profile, NAPLAN performance, funding levels and sources, and other financial information. You can also see enrolment numbers and attendance rates.

My School is managed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), an independent statutory authority responsible for national curriculum, assessment and reporting programs. Find out more on the ACARA website.

Keeping it all in context

My School includes data for each year since the commencement of NAPLAN in 2008, which allows fair comparisons to be made between schools with students from similar socio-educational backgrounds. This is done using the index of community socio-educational advantage (ICSEA).

ICSEA enables fair, meaningful comparisons of NAPLAN results and other performance measures among schools across Australia. It takes into account key factors in students’ family backgrounds (parents’ occupation, school and non-school education), as well as the geographical location of the school and proportion of Indigenous students. ICSEA should be interpreted with the assistance of our infographic contained in the About ICSEA fact sheet and the Guide to understanding ICSEA values.
